Scientists hunt for Eye-Misalignment genes in families
NCT ID NCT04770519
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looks for genes that may cause strabismus (crossed or misaligned eyes) and nystagmus (shaky eyes). Researchers will collect DNA from families with at least three members who have strabismus, or from individuals with infantile esotropia or nystagmus and their close relatives. The goal is to find shared genetic variants, not to test a treatment.
