Radiation and eye injections tested to save vision from rare eye cancer

NCT ID NCT03712904

Summary

This study tested a two-part treatment for a rare eye cancer called uveal melanoma. It combined precise radiation therapy with injections of a drug (aflibercept) into the eye. The goal was to see if this approach could control the tumor while better preserving the patient's vision by reducing side effects from the radiation. The trial was stopped early after enrolling only 3 patients.
