New eye cancer drug aims to save vision and stop spread

NCT ID NCT05907954

Summary

This study is testing whether a drug called IDE196 (darovasertib) can help control eye melanoma when given before and sometimes after standard treatments like radiation or eye removal. Researchers want to see if the drug shrinks tumors enough to avoid removing the eye, reduces radiation side effects, and prevents the cancer from returning or spreading. The trial involves 160 patients with localized uveal melanoma who are scheduled for standard treatment.
