Simple eye mask could be key to better hospital sleep

NCT ID NCT07385768

Summary

This study tested whether wearing a light-blocking eye mask at night could help patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) sleep better. Researchers compared 60 ICU patients who wore the mask to those who received standard care, measuring sleep quality and a natural sleep hormone. The goal was to see if this simple, non-invasive method could improve rest and support the body's natural sleep-wake cycle during a hospital stay.
