New eye drug test aims to clear blinding retinal buildup

NCT ID NCT07403825

Summary

This study is testing if an existing eye injection drug called faricimab can help clear abnormal material that builds up under the retina in people with 'wet' age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Researchers will give the injections to 100 participants in Spain and measure if the material is gone after 16 weeks. The goal is to see if this drug, which is already used for wet AMD, might be particularly good at clearing this specific problem.
