Eye implant could replace monthly injections for blinding disease

NCT ID NCT05562947

Summary

This study is testing a small, refillable implant placed in the eye that slowly releases a medicine (ranibizumab) for six months. It is being compared to the standard treatment of receiving the same medicine as a monthly injection into the eye. The goal is to see if the implant works as well as the injections to control 'wet' age-related macular degeneration, a leading cause of vision loss, while reducing the treatment burden for patients.
