New eye implant aims to halt diabetic vision damage

NCT ID NCT07235085

Summary

This large, late-stage study is testing a tiny, slow-dissolving implant placed in the eye to see if it can safely stop or reverse damage from diabetic retinopathy. It will compare the new implant to a mock injection procedure in about 930 adults with moderate to severe non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy. The main goal is to see if the implant improves the severity of the eye disease over one year.
