Screen time and eye focus: new study measures the impact of Close-Up viewing

NCT ID NCT07679048

First seen Jul 01, 2026 · Last updated Jul 02, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study investigates how the eye's focusing ability changes after 20 minutes of looking at a screen up close (25 cm) compared to looking at a distant object (10 m). Healthy adults aged 18-35 will perform focusing tasks while a wavefront sensor measures their eye's response. The goal is to understand the effects of prolonged near viewing, which is common in modern work and school environments.
