New eye drops aim to soothe painful eye condition in 'Butterfly Children'
NCT ID NCT06713434
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether ELK-003 eye drops can help reduce eye symptoms in people with epidermolysis bullosa, a condition that causes fragile skin and frequent, painful eye abrasions. Twenty participants will use the drops six times daily for six months, and researchers will compare their eye health before and during treatment. The main goal is to check if the drops are safe and if they can reduce how often these painful eye abrasions happen.
