Testing eye drops to soothe painful eye condition in 'Butterfly Children'

NCT ID NCT06713434

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether ELK-003 eye drops can help reduce eye problems in people with epidermolysis bullosa, a condition that causes fragile skin and frequent, painful eye scratches. The study will first observe the natural course of eye issues, then have 20 participants use the eye drops six times daily for six months to see if symptoms improve. Researchers will track safety and count how often painful corneal abrasions occur.
