'Painless' eye drops tested to save sight in kids with brain tumors

NCT ID NCT05733572

Summary

This study is testing a new type of eye drop called CHF6467, a 'painless' nerve growth factor, to see if it can protect and improve vision in children and young adults with optic pathway glioma (OPG), a type of brain tumor that often causes vision loss. The trial will compare the eye drops to a placebo (saltwater solution) in 36 participants to check for safety and whether the treatment helps visual function. The goal is to find a new way to protect the nerves in the eye from damage caused by the tumor, rather than just trying to shrink the tumor itself.
