Eye drop trial aims to halt blinding eye disease

Summary
This study is testing whether a new eye drop medication, GAL-101, can slow the progression of geographic atrophy, a form of age-related macular degeneration that causes permanent vision loss. About 110 participants will be randomly assigned to use either the active eye drops or a placebo (inactive) version daily for at least a year. The main goal is to see if the treatment can slow the growth of the damaged area in the retina and help preserve central vision.
