Experimental eye drops for GVHD dry eye show early promise but study halted

NCT ID NCT06495307

First seen Jan 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tested a new eye drop (rhPRG4) in 3 adults with moderate to severe dry eye from chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), a complication of bone marrow transplants. The goal was to see if the drops safely improve dryness and eye surface damage. The trial was terminated early, so results are limited.
