Eye drop trial aims to help millions read without glasses
NCT ID NCT06542497
Summary
This study tested whether a prescription eye drop called phentolamine could safely improve near vision for people with presbyopia, the age-related difficulty focusing on close objects like reading material. It involved 569 adults aged 45-64 and compared the active eye drops to a placebo (inactive) version to see if they provided better reading vision 12 hours after use. The goal was to offer a potential alternative to reading glasses for daily tasks.
