Targeted chemo injection aims to save eyes from cancer

NCT ID NCT05893654

Summary

This study is testing a new approach for treating large eye tumors (choroidal melanoma) to try to save the eye from removal. Researchers want to see if injecting a chemotherapy drug directly into the artery feeding the tumor can shrink it enough to allow a follow-up radiation treatment. The goal is to control the cancer while preserving the eye and vision for patients who would otherwise likely need it surgically removed.
