First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study tests whether draining fluid from the lower back (external lumbar drainage) is safe and possible for people with severe traumatic brain injury who have high pressure inside the skull. About 30 adults aged 18-65 will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care alone or standard care plus the spinal drain. The goal is to see if the drain can reduce dangerous brain pressure without causing harm.
