Decade-Long look at blood thinner safety in cancer patients

NCT ID NCT07388056

Summary

This study looked back at 10 years of medical records to understand the long-term safety and effectiveness of extended blood thinner treatment in cancer patients who develop blood clots. Researchers analyzed data from 169 patients who had already received at least 6 months of blood thinners as part of their regular care. The goal was to see if lower preventive doses work as well as full treatment doses after the initial 6-month period, focusing on whether blood clots returned, if bleeding complications occurred, and how patients survived.
