New blood test may catch fatty liver early in At-Risk patients

NCT ID NCT06225193

First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at a blood test called the Enhanced Liver Fibrosis (ELF) test to see if it can detect early fatty liver disease in people at high risk, such as those with diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease. Researchers will review medical records from 300 patients to compare ELF scores with other tests like ultrasound or liver biopsy. The goal is to understand how well the ELF test predicts liver problems and whether lifestyle changes or medications can improve scores over time.
