Breathing boost: new exercise may help bronchiectasis patients breathe easier
NCT ID NCT07317531
First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a specific breathing exercise (expiratory muscle training) to standard pulmonary rehabilitation helps adults with bronchiectasis breathe better, cough more effectively, and walk farther. About 40 stable patients aged 18-70 will be randomly assigned to either standard rehab alone or rehab plus the extra exercise. Researchers will measure lung function, muscle strength, exercise capacity, and quality of life before and after the program.
