New cell therapy tested for incurable dry eye disease

NCT ID NCT07192666

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether exosomes—tiny particles released by cells—can safely improve severe dry eye symptoms in people with Sjögren's syndrome. It will involve 12 adults whose eye dryness hasn't improved with standard treatments like artificial tears. Researchers will monitor for side effects and check if the treatment helps with eye moisture, comfort, and damage over 29 days.
