Robot suit helps ICU patients walk sooner after major surgery

NCT ID NCT07220733

Summary

This study is testing a self-balancing robotic exoskeleton to help patients walk safely in the intensive care unit after major chest surgery. The goal is to see if the device can safely support early movement, which may help prevent muscle weakness and other complications from bed rest. Up to five eligible adult patients will use the exoskeleton for short sessions over two weeks while researchers monitor for safety and how well it works.
