First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested whether a device called EXOGEN, which uses low-intensity ultrasound, can help broken bones heal properly in people at risk for non-union (when a bone doesn't heal). Over 12,000 adults aged 21-80 with certain fractures took part. Researchers compared those using EXOGEN plus standard care to those receiving standard care alone, using insurance claims data.
