Scientists test exercise to track deadly muscle disease
NCT ID NCT03802279
Summary
This study aimed to find better ways to monitor future treatments for a rare, inherited disease that causes sudden, severe muscle breakdown. Researchers tested 27 patients to see if measurements taken during an exercise test, like oxygen use and heart function, could be useful for tracking the disease. The goal was to provide tools for future clinical trials, as current treatments are limited and the disease is unpredictable and dangerous.
