Can a fitbit and coaching keep seniors on their feet?

NCT ID NCT04851405

First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study compares two methods of delivering the Otago Exercise Program—a set of strength and balance exercises—to adults over 70 who have had a fall. One method uses a physiotherapist with a Fitbit for feedback, the other uses traditional delivery. Researchers will track how well the program is followed, how many falls occur, and whether the coaching approach is worth the cost.
