Can simple exercises before surgery stop a common breast cancer complication?
NCT ID NCT07301580
Summary
This study tested whether a personalized exercise program, started before breast cancer surgery and continued for a year afterward, could prevent arm swelling (lymphedema) and improve recovery. It involved 40 women scheduled for breast cancer surgery, who followed a structured exercise plan. The main goals were to see if the exercises reduced the chance of developing lymphedema, lessened pain, and improved arm function and quality of life during recovery.
