NCT ID NCT07398729

First seen Feb 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a short session of bodyweight exercises (calisthenics) combined with motivational activities like group breathing and stretching could lower stress hormone levels and improve symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress in healthy young adults aged 18 to 25. Eighty-four participants were split into three groups: exercise plus motivation, motivation only, or no intervention. Researchers measured blood cortisol and self-reported mood before and after the session to see if these simple, low-cost approaches offer quick mental health benefits.
