First seen Mar 28, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether tailoring exercise intensity to feel more pleasurable can increase physical activity in people who have had a heart attack (acute coronary syndrome) within the past year. Fifty-two participants will either follow a standard cardiac rehab program or one where exercise intensity is adjusted to maximize enjoyment and arousal. The goal is to see if a more pleasant exercise experience leads to better long-term activity habits.
