Mind over muscle: new exercise trick may ease shoulder pain

NCT ID NCT07546084

First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026

Summary

This study tests a new exercise approach for people with ongoing shoulder pain from rotator cuff issues. Instead of just doing standard shoulder exercises, participants will also perform tasks that shift their attention away from the shoulder. The goal is to see if this 'attention shift' method reduces pain and improves shoulder function better than standard exercises alone. The study involves 46 adults with shoulder pain for at least 3 months, who will attend supervised sessions twice a week for 6 weeks.
