Walk test proves safe, effective for heart surgery recovery exercise

NCT ID NCT07440407

Summary

This study tested a simpler way to plan safe exercise for people recovering from heart surgery. Instead of a complex lab test, researchers used a six-minute walk to set exercise intensity. The method was found to be safe, allowed patients to do more exercise, and led to similar improvements in walking ability and quality of life as the traditional approach.
