First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 25, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looked at people with rare genetic conditions that affect the body's ability to repair DNA, including xeroderma pigmentosum, Cockayne syndrome, and trichothiodystrophy. Researchers collected samples like skin and blood to study how DNA repair problems relate to health issues. The goal was to learn more about how DNA repair helps prevent cancer, not to test a new treatment. About 700 participants took part.
