NCT ID NCT04056377
First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study is observing over 1,000 South African children aged 5 to 9 to understand why some develop early signs of high blood pressure and heart problems. Researchers are measuring blood pressure, body composition, and looking for new biological markers in the blood. The goal is to find ways to predict and prevent heart disease later in life, not to test a treatment.
