New needle treatment could replace surgery for adrenal gland tumors
NCT ID NCT05368090
First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tests a new, less invasive procedure called EUS-RFA (using ultrasound and heat) to treat small tumors on the left adrenal gland that cause a hormone disorder (primary aldosteronism) leading to high blood pressure. About 60 adults will receive the new procedure, and their results will be compared to those who have standard surgery to remove the gland. The goal is to see if the new method can control the hormone problem with fewer complications and a shorter hospital stay.
