New needle treatment could shrink pancreatic tumors without surgery

NCT ID NCT07536087

First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study is testing a procedure called endoscopic ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation (EUS-RFA) for people with certain pancreatic growths who cannot have or refuse surgery. The procedure uses a thin tube with a camera and a special needle to deliver heat and destroy the abnormal tissue. Researchers want to see if it can shrink or eliminate the growths, reduce the need for frequent scans, and lower the risk of complications compared to surgery. About 50 participants will be followed for one year to check safety and effectiveness.
