New nasal spray could offer fast relief for dangerous heart rhythms

NCT ID NCT06716021

Summary

This study is testing whether a nasal spray called etripamil can safely and quickly lower a dangerously fast heart rate during episodes of atrial fibrillation (AFib). About 750 adults with a history of symptomatic AFib will be given either the real spray or a placebo to use at home when they feel an episode starting. The main goal is to see if the spray reduces heart rate more effectively than the placebo within 30 minutes.
