Summary

This study tests a daily pill called etavopivat in 27 children (ages 12-16) with sickle cell disease who are at higher risk for a first stroke. The medicine aims to improve blood flow in the brain and reduce stroke risk. Participants take the pill for one year, with an option to continue for another 48 weeks. The study checks safety and how well the drug works using ultrasound scans of the brain's blood vessels.
