Summary

This study looks at whether a small amount of esketamine, given during and after weight-loss surgery, can help reduce depression in obese patients who already have mild to moderate depression. About 40 adults with a BMI over 35 and a Hamilton Depression score of 7 or higher will take part. The goal is to see if this approach lowers the number of people who remain depressed after surgery and improves their recovery and quality of life.
