New gel could speed healing of stubborn leg wounds

Summary
This study tests a gel called EscharEx against a placebo to see if it can safely and effectively clean dead tissue from venous leg ulcers, preparing the wound to heal. About 216 adults with leg ulcers that have lasted 4 weeks to 1 year will receive either the gel or a placebo during clinic visits. The goal is to see if the gel helps wounds close faster and more completely.
