Heart plug tested as blood thinner alternative for stroke prevention

NCT ID NCT06465459

Summary

This study is evaluating a small implant called the LambrE system, which is placed in the heart to close off an area where blood clots often form in people with atrial fibrillation. The goal is to prevent strokes in patients who have a high stroke risk but cannot safely take long-term blood-thinning medications. Researchers will track 220 patients to see how well the device works and how safe it is over time.
