NCT ID NCT07344805

First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study tested a new way to clean teeth for people with gum disease (periodontitis). Instead of the standard deep cleaning (scaling and root planing), some patients received a gentler air-polishing treatment using erythritol powder. The goal was to see if this new method works as well, causes less pain, and takes less time. Twenty patients were followed for six months to compare gum health and bacteria levels.
