Could a four-hour class spare physiotherapy students from career-long aches?
NCT ID NCT07796581
First seen Sep 01, 2026 · Last updated Sep 02, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This trial tests whether a short ergonomics course can help final-year physiotherapy students adopt safer postures and lower their risk of work-related muscle strain. Half of the 50 participants receive four hours of hands-on training over two weeks, while the other half receives none. Researchers measure posture, muscle activity, and discomfort before the training, right after it, and six weeks later.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Ergonomics education, a behavioral intervention consisting of four hours of theoretical and practical training over two weeks.
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a simple training program that helps physiotherapy students avoid work-related muscle and joint problems during their careers.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small trial with 50 participants, so results may not apply to all students. The training is brief, and any benefits might fade over time.
