First seen Dec 15, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested whether a nerve block (erector spinae plane block) given before lumbar spine surgery can reduce the need for morphine painkillers after the operation. 100 adults having non-instrumented back surgery participated. The main goal was to see if morphine use dropped within 72 hours after surgery, along with pain levels and side effects like nausea.
