First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at whether removing drainage tubes after laparoscopic stomach cancer surgery helps patients recover faster without increasing complications. About 454 adults with early to advanced stomach cancer will be randomly assigned to receive standard care with drains or a tube-free recovery plan. Researchers will track how many need a second surgery or drain placement within 30 days, and measure quality of life and hospital stay length.
