Major trial tests drug to halt inherited bowel disease before it turns cancerous

Summary
This study is testing if a drug called eRapa can slow the progression of Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP), an inherited condition where many polyps grow in the bowel and can turn into cancer. About 168 adults with high-risk FAP will take either eRapa or a placebo pill every other week. Researchers will check every 6 months with a camera test (endoscopy) to see if the drug reduces polyp growth and delays the need for major surgery.
