New injection tested to ease common childbirth pain

NCT ID NCT03084549

Summary

This study tested whether a local anesthetic injection (ropivacaine) could better reduce pain after an episiotomy compared to a placebo injection. It involved 272 women who had a specific type of episiotomy during childbirth. The main goal was to see if the treatment provided better pain relief one week after delivery.
