New study aims to improve labor pain relief for Moms-to-Be

NCT ID NCT07592364

First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study compares two methods of giving epidural pain medicine during labor: one that delivers medication in small, timed bursts (PIEB) and one that gives a steady drip (CEI). Both allow women to request extra pain relief as needed. The goal is to see which method provides better pain control, uses less medication, and makes mothers more satisfied. About 88 pregnant women will take part.
