New epidural method may ease pain after knee surgery

NCT ID NCT07605208

First seen May 24, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026

Summary

This study tests if giving pain medicine in small, timed bursts (PIEB) works better than a steady drip (CEI) after knee replacement. About 90 adults will receive one of the two methods plus a patient-controlled pump. Researchers will measure pain, recovery quality, and how much medicine is used in the first 24 hours after surgery.
