First seen May 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how the layer of fat on the heart (epicardial fat) is linked to chronic diseases like heart problems and obesity. Researchers will measure this fat using ultrasound in 500 adults aged 50-70 from Russia and Central Asia. The goal is to see if this fat measurement can help predict future health events like hospital stays or death.
