Which drug protects babies better during C-Sections?

NCT ID NCT06921473

Summary

This study compared two common medications (ephedrine and norepinephrine) used to treat low blood pressure in mothers during planned C-sections. The goal was to see which drug is safer for the baby by measuring the acidity level in the umbilical cord blood right after birth. Researchers enrolled 102 women to determine which medication better prevents a condition called fetal acidosis while keeping the mother's blood pressure stable.
