Experimental drug aims to tame uncontrollable hives

Summary
This study tested whether an experimental drug called EP262 could reduce symptoms in people with chronic spontaneous urticaria (long-lasting hives with no clear trigger). 113 participants who still had significant hives despite standard antihistamine treatment were randomly assigned to receive either EP262 or a placebo for 6 weeks. Researchers measured changes in daily itch severity and hive counts to see if the drug provided better relief than the dummy treatment.
