Time-Restricted eating may slow aging in overweight adults

NCT ID NCT05880095

First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looked at whether eating only during a specific daily window (time-restricted eating) can improve signs of aging in adults who are overweight or have early fatty liver disease. 176 participants were split into three groups: one followed a healthy Mediterranean diet, one ate the same diet but with fewer calories, and one ate the Mediterranean diet only during a set time each day. The goal was to see if time-restricted eating is easier to stick with and if it helps with metabolism, sleep, mood, and biological aging markers over 6 months.
