This study tested a new machine that uses sound waves from outside the body to break up kidney stones. It included 25 adults with stones in the kidney or ureter that were 3 to 10 mm in size. The goal was to see if the treatment could clear all stones or leave only tiny pieces under 3 mm, while checking for safety issues.
